Ex Libris France is pleased to announce that the Louis Pasteur University (Strasbourg I) has chosen MetaLib and SFX for its library portal.
The ideal solution for managing a hybrid library environment, the MetaLib portal is a gateway to any type of resource, whether it is hosted locally or off-site. MetaLib is fully integrated with SFX to allow onward navigation from records that MetaLib has retrieved. SFX provides users with context-sensitive services that are defined by the institution on the basis of its e‑collections and policies.
“We are delighted and honored that this very important university has chosen our MetaLib and SFX products,” said Frédéric Lefèvre, managing director of Ex Libris France. “Louis Pasteur University is the first university in France to select our library portal without having a prior ALEPH installation. The portal is going to be integrated with an Ever Loris system.”
Louis Pasteur University is known for its significant scientific contributions, which place it among the top-ranking universities in Europe. The school maintains strong research ties with the French National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS), the French Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), and the National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA).
With an enrollment of more than 17,000 students, Louis Pasteur University offers a wide range of disciplines, spanning the health sciences, physics, biology, chemistry, computer science, the humanities, and the social sciences. Its library has a collection of 750,000 books and 10,000 periodicals.
