DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, Dec. 23, 2003: Endeavor Information Systems announced today Josephine Crawford has joined Endeavor as Manager of Curriculum Development. In this role, Crawford will manage expanded training opportunities for Endeavor's 1,200-plus library customers around the globe.
At Endeavor, Crawford will spearhead efforts to use new training technologies to the advantage of libraries using Endeavor's Voyager integrated library management system, ENCompass system for managing, searching and linking digital collections, and the LinkFinderPlus comprehensive linking system in addition to Endeavor's 11 other product offerings.
Crawford was most recently the Head of Information Systems at the Biomedical Library of the University of Minnesota and chair of the University's Digital Library Working Group. She previously was involved in many areas of academic and research libraries including automation and systems, technical services and users services at the libraries of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of California-Los Angeles and the University of California-Riverside. She has experience with various integrated library systems such as Ex Libris' Aleph, the NOTIS Library System and UCLA's ORION system.
Crawford holds Adjunct Faculty appointments at Dominican University, River Forest, IL, and the College of St Catherine, St. Paul, MN. She teaches library and information science courses with a special interest in developing technology management skills in new library professionals.
Crawford has authored and edited a variety of library-related articles and books. She has served at various levels on subdivisions and committees of multiple library organizations including the American Library Association, the Library Administration and Management Association, and the Library and Information Technology Association. She is also a seasoned presenter at library and technology conferences.
