Abstract: EOS International announces the successful implementation of EOS Q-Series Serials at Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman, a nationwide commercial law firm with a legal staff of over 600 attorneys.

(Carlsbad, CA - July 25, 2003) EOS International announces the successful implementation of EOS Q-Series(tm) Serials at Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman (KMZR), a nationwide commercial law firm with a legal staff of over 600 attorneys. The KMZR Library Information Center staff is committed to meeting the diverse needs of their patrons and actively manages over 10,700 titles across multiple locations.

During the library's preliminary investigation of automation products, KMZR looked at a variety of solutions from vendors such as Horizon and SydneyPLUS. "We knew we needed an updated system that would allow the integration of our existing libraries into one system as well as any future libraries," says Ms. Roeske, the firm's Technical Services Librarian. "EOS Q-Series enables the organization to have a centralized, easily searched system to inform patrons of what is available in the Library Information Center."

EOS Q-Series is a MARC standards-based product that has the functionality a multi-site law library needs for multi-part, unscheduled serial subscription checkin, thus making it easy to control the receipt of journals, series, and supplements regardless of publishing schedule or location.

"We needed a system that would accommodate the multi-parts of legal publications as well as standard and nonstandard frequencies for updates. The ability to handle the various types of supplements, such as pocket part, loose-leaf, revised volumes, etc. that are received in a law library was very important to us."

EOS Q-Series has enabled KMZR to continue to improve their access to records across all of the offices while enabling each office to retain its independence. With the integration of the other offices into one Serials system, users can instantly tell whether a publication is current or if the organization has the requested resource.

EOS International is a leading global library information management software and service provider with a client base of over 5,000 special libraries. A client-driven company nominated for a Computerworld Smithsonian award, EOS library automation software products (EOS.Web(tm), EOS Q-Series(tm), EOS GLAS(r), and hosted, EOS e-Library Services(tm)) serve the stringent knowledge management needs of corporate, legal, medical, government and special libraries of all sizes.
