(Carlsbad, CA – June 5, 2003) – EOS International today announced that one of its Q-Series product line partners, Convera, was recently recognized as a leading Visionary in the 2003 Search Engine Magic Quadrant issued by Gartner, Inc. In the report, Convera was ranked in the top two out of 21 search vendors on Completeness of Vision, or its ability to "not only serve an enterprise's needs today, but also to prepare for its future circumstances." Convera was also ranked in the top four out of 21 vendors on Ability to Execute, or its ability to "see the technological challenges enterprises will face and [have] the resources and viability to respond."
Among the criteria used to determine a search vendor's Completeness of Vision, Gartner evaluated relevancy determination, indexing, security, scalability, architecture and input/output flexibility. In evaluating a company's Ability to Execute, Gartner looked at financial strength, service leverage, enterprise visibility, installed base, pricing lexibility and appeal. The report cites that Convera "maintained a considerable flow of new customers and continues to provide remarkable scale and a variety of critical features."
"We are very pleased that Convera has been recognized by Gartner in the 2003 Search Engine Magic Quadrant," said Tony Saadat, CEO EOS International. “This recognition confirms our choice of Retrievalware to power the search capabilities for the EOS Q-Series product line.
