Emeryville, CA--Innovative Interfaces, the leading supplier of Web-based library systems, announced that it has appointed Zhangjun Yan as Librarian Training Consultant for Asia. When not training at customer sites, Mr. Yan will split his time between the U.S. and Hong Kong.
Mr. Yan's exceptional credentials and experience in library science as well as engineering make him ideally suited for this role. His prior experience includes serving as Deputy Director of the Division of Research on Computer Applications of LAS (Library) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and as a visiting scholar in the Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Most recently, Mr. Yan was a Senior Software Engineer/Systems Analyst at Camber Corporation in Washington, D.C.
In addition to his fifteen years of professional experience in libraries, Mr. Yan serves as a branch president in the Chinese American Library Association and is involved in the Hong Kong Union Catalog of Ancient Chinese Books. He is extensively published and has been the recipient of multiple academic awards and grants.
Mr. Yan has a B.S. in Computer Science from North-western University in Xi'an, China and an M.E. in Computer Architecture for the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in Beijing, China.
