St. Louis-May 19, 2003-Sirsi Corporation, the leader in new-name sales of technology for libraries around the world*, today announced that libraries in California are continuing to choose the Unicorn® Library Management System, Sirsi's iBistro and iLink e-Library solutions, and Sirsi DataStream(tm) enriched content. Latest sales include Auburn-Placer County Library, Stockton-San Joaquin County Library, Carlsbad City Library, Chabot-Las Positas College in Pleasanton, and the National Hispanic University in San Jose. Sirsi's iBistro and iLink e-Library solutions facilitate searching the library's online catalog and library announcements, connecting to partner libraries' databases, and retrieving valuable information from the Web.

Sirsi DataStream provides users with enriched content, such as reviews and summaries of cataloged materials, exceptional Web resources, the latest authors and titles, and virtually any other electronic content available today. "iBistro with DataStream delivers the information our users seek," said Elaine Reed, director of Auburn-Placer County Library. These sales follow wins with Orange County Public Library in Santa Ana, Whittier Public Library, Diocese of Orange Library, and Oxnard Public Library. "We are not surprised that additional California libraries have selected Unicorn; we are extremely pleased and encouraged by the outstanding degree of organization and support that Sirsi has provided," said John Adams, director of the Orange County Public Library, whose library recently moved from Dynix to Sirsi.

"We are certain that Sirsi is the product of choice for libraries today, especially with the Lodi City Library leaving Geac to join our Sirsi system," said Nicki Stanke, director of Stockton-San Joaquin County Library. "We went through a vigorous competitive process involving all departments within the library, Sirsi was far and away the top choice of our staff." Stockton-San Joaquin's move to Unicorn also includes the Amador County Library in Jackson, California.

"The enthusiasm of our new customers is both rewarding and inspiring. We are delighted to be in the position to deliver solutions that not only make the job of our library partners easier from a day-to-day business perspective but also to be in a position to help them make a major difference to the level of service they are able to offer their end users," said Sirsi's Andrew Morrice, vice president of sales & marketing and international operations. "We look forward to working with these new libraries and providing them with the very best in products and services."
