Pharos Systems, the leading output and PC management vendor, has certified that its entire product suite — Uniprint, SignUp Vx2, and Off-The-Glass — will integrate seamlessly with the Sirsi patron database for authentication and account information. Pharos will receive information such as patron status, valid patron, and valid patron password information to accept or decline a user's logon and can optionally use all 14 flags within the patron status data to determine information like charge privileges, renewal privileges, excessive outstanding fines, or too many items overdue. This information is used to construct and enforce policies for public access computers, printing and copying management, and payment for printing and copying.
The Sirsi SIP2 Certification Program, an original certification program for the standard interchange protocol, version 2 (SIP2), enables third-party vendors to ensure that their SIP2-compliant products integrate seamlessly with Sirsi systems. Once a third-party product is Sirsi SIP2-Certified, Sirsi users will know that they can take advantage of best-of-breed, SIP2-compliant products in their Sirsi environment.
