Emeryville, CA—Innovative Interfaces, the leader in information technology for libraries, announced that the Gail Borden Public Library District in Elgin, Illinois, has chosen to install the Millennium library automation system. Millennium will replace the library's existing Dynix system.
Functionality was paramount in the choice of a new system at Gail Borden Public Library. “Innovative Interfaces provides an extremely flexible system,” commented Dan Zack, Gail Borden Public Library's Executive Director. “Because it can be customized, it will allow us to maintain easy to use, uncluttered staff and patron interfaces. An additional attraction for us is Innovative's dedication to developing new software and technologies to keep pace with today's ever-evolving information market. We continue to be very pleased with the courtesy and responsiveness of Innovative's support staff, especially as we organize all the details necessary to open our new library building this autumn.”
Gail Borden Public Library provides a wide range of materials, programs, and services to more than 120,000 district residents in and around Elgin, Illinois. This district serves one of the largest populations in Illinois and covers approximately fifty square miles of Kane and Cook Counties. Its online catalog provides patrons with access to over 234,000 print titles, 34,000 non-print titles, 385 circulating periodicals, 1,400 electronic magazines, a host of electronic resources, and much more.
Innovative continues to succeed in the public library market. In the past month, three other public libraries have also purchased Millennium: Durango Public Library (CO), Monroeville Public Library (PA), and Concord Public Library (NH).
