INWOOD, WV January 9, 2003 - David W. Bates, a librarian and industry veteran with over 20 years of experience, has joined the Sales Team at The Library Corporation (TLC).
"TLC has greatly increased its share of the public library market over the last several years," National Sales Manager Gar Sydnor said. "David's experience and familiarity with the market will be a great service to libraries looking for their next system."
Mr. Bates served as the director of the North Adams Public Library in North Adams, Mass. and holds a master's degree in Library Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Prior to joining TLC, he was the Director of the Public Libraries Division for the SIRSI Corporation, as well as the National Sales Manager for Ameritech Library Services (formerly Dynix).
"We're pleased to welcome David to the TLC family," Director of Sales Tom Loy said. "His expertise in the implementation of integrated library management systems in libraries and experience with all aspects of library technology will serve TLC and the library community well. The library's new catalog will include Kid's Catalog Web™, a TLC's children's online interface with over 20,000 Web links. "Everybody is looking forward to all of Kid's Catalog Web's bells and whistles," Ms. Bakos said.
