Web Resource Library renamed WebMARC - new name plus new features highlight the benefits of Sagebrush's K-12-focused Web site collection for school libraries

Minneapolis, MN – February 15, 2002 – Sagebrush Corporation, a leading solutions provider for the K-12 library market, announced that Web Resource Library, a collection of more than 6,000 high-quality, curriculum-focused, K-12-oriented Web sites, has been renamed WebMARCÔ. In addition to the new name, valuable features such as monthly updates and grade-specific collections have been added.

“The new name emphasizes that WebMARC is a collection of Web sites that are added to the library's collection as MARC records,” said Gail Mazure, MLIS, Senior Product Manager for Sagebrush. “WebMARC resources are thoroughly reviewed and precisely cataloged, giving students and educators access to recently published, trustworthy information online at the same time they are searching among the books and periodicals in the library's catalog.”

WebMARC has been enhanced to include monthly updates, ensuring that students access only the most relevant and up-to-date information on the Web. Elizabeth Miller, MLIS, SLIS, noted Internet resource specialist, maintains the WebMARC collection, evaluating and selecting all Web sites included. With each monthly update, Elizabeth reviews several exceptional sites in each grade level and provides helpful suggestions for relating each site's information to classroom situations.

WebMARC subscribers may now also choose one or more grade-level specific collections, including K-12 (entire collection), K-6, 5-9, and 8-12, to help deliver the most appropriate information to students of every age and ability. The entire K-12 collection consists of more than 6,000 Web-based resources.

A sample of WebMARC resources, along with Elizabeth's most recent review, is available at www.sagebrushcorp.com/tech/webmarc.cfm.
