The Spanish university ETEA upgrade to AMICUS: a modern library management system from Elias

The ELiAS product, DOBIS/LIBIS was the first library system chosen by ETEA in 1991. DOBIS served the needs of the University for nine years, and in 1999, a decision was made to look for a replacement.

AMICUS was chosen as the preferred library system and ETEA are live in production with a Spanish version of AMICUS since January 2000. Escuela de Tecnica Empresarial de Andalucia – is the third Spanish DOBIS/LIBIS user to upgrade to AMICUS.

Senora Ana Sanchez, the Director of the library, expressed her enthusiasm and satisfaction with her selection of AMICUS:-

"The reason for the change was that Amicus is the natural successor of DOBIS/LOBIS and because it's based on a modern and flexible design which may easily be adapted to the institution requirements. "

ETEA aims to promote education and research in the areas of Economics & Business Studies, together with developing university activities and maintaining contact with the industrial sector and society in general.With a student body of over 4.000, the library carries out an essential role in the development and support of research activities of the institution.
