(May 25, 2000. Columbus OH) vImpact, Inc. (home of The Library Channel) is pleased to announce it has updated its website at www.vimpact.net. Libraries can view the software and obtain a demo version of The Library Channel at this site. This site also offers a dedicated e-mail support system for libraries that have current licenses for The Library Channel.
In addition to enhanced support, the Website will also provide product downloads and updates for licensed users of The Library Channel. An updated database reduces the possibility of encountering dead links, a common problem with Internet searches.
vImpact, Inc. is also pleased to announce it has a new management team and is forming an advisory board. Roger Nielsen, who recently took on the role of company chairman, leads the management team. The advisory board consists of experienced librarians and other individuals with extensive experience in the library field as well as Internet and software experts.
"The Library Channel provides a clear and logical structure that guides access to Internet based information resources" according to Floyd C. Dickman, former Library and Program Development Coordinator for the State Library of Ohio. "The easy-to-use multimedia-based environment enables library patrons, even those with little or no Internet experience, to perform efficient information searches with minimal intervention from Library staff."
