St. Louis, Missouri, USA -- September 20, 1994: Data Research Associates, Inc. (DRA) today announced that members of the Automated Library Information System (ALIS) are converting from their current CLSI software to a Data Research System. The Nassau Library System in Uniondale, New York, will serve as host site for the new system. ALIS formed to upgrade automation for its member libraries comprises 45 of Nassau Library System's 54 total autonomous public library members.
"The driving force, I think, behind the choice of a new system was to find a comprehensive approach to automation, including an on-line PAC," says George Trepp, ALIS Chairman. "DRA successfully met our rigorous specifications in a broad range of areas, including function, performance and support. ALIS libraries look forward to the DRA installation as our vehicle into the 21st century."
Alice Nayer, Interim Director of the Nassau Library System, adds, "We all share a great deal of excitement about purchasing a system that will bring Nassau County and its patrons leading-edge technology."
