DUBLIN, Ohio, May 19, 1998 - Information Dimensions, Inc., a leading provider of web-enabled knowledge center solutions, today announced it will exhibit its new browser-based interface for library management functions at the 3rd Annual Desktop Collaboration & Joint Intelligence Virtual Architecture (JIVA) conference and exposition.
Scheduled for May 19-22 at The Founders Inn & Conference Center in Virginia Beach, Va., JIVA is the premier gathering of government purchasers and technical support contractors within the U.S. intelligence and defense communities.
Information Dimensions will demonstrate the BASIS Techlib browser interface, a new generation integrated system for managing library resources - including traditional and digital collections -- and automating daily library operations. The library of the future requires an infrastructure to manage digital documents, Internet resources, multimedia, as well as traditional print materials. BASIS Techlib provides the technology foundation to meet the rapidly changing requirements of the digital library.
Attendees also will see BASIS Corporate Information Centre (CIC), the enterprise solution for managing all documents within an organization regardless of platform. The CIC, delivered with the BASIS Intranet Solution, enables developers to load complex document collections into its easy forms-based application frameworks. Then, authorized users may view, search, change, archive, manage and track these collections from its easily navigable browser interface.
"BASIS already is used for a wide range of applications, including library management, and document and digital asset management within the government community," says Scott Scharadin, Information Dimensions vice president of marketing.
"The BASIS Techlib interface moves users forward by helping special libraries evolve from warehouses of information to key partners in managing enterprise knowledge."
