Huntsville, Alabama - Sirsi Corporation is pleased to announce that its library automation systems have been installed at the Kelly Air Force Base Science and Engineering Library, the Madison County Public Library System, and the Sgt. Yano Library.
Sirsi's Scientific And Technical Information Library Automation System (STILAS) is installed at the Science and Engineering Library, located at Kelly Air Force Base, Texas. The system is running on an IBM RISC System/6000 Model 220 host computer. The library has tensed the bibliographic and inventory control module, circulation module, enhanced public access module, intelligent interface to DROLSTR/WU, multiuser gateway, serials control module, and STINFO tracking module. The library serves the Air Force Materiel Command and the military and civilian employees of Kelly AFB. The library has 2,000 books and 23,000 technical reports on subjects such as repair and modification of aircraft, environmental issues, robotics, and cryogenics. The system was purchased through GSA Contract GSOOK-94AGS-5695.
The Unicorn Collection Management System is installed at the Madison County Public Library System. Unicorn is installed on an IBM RISC System/6000 Model 34H host computer at the Canton Public Library, located in Canton, Mississippi. Branches in Flora, Madison, and Ridgeland are connected to the system via digital telephone lines. Madison County has licensed the acquisitions, authority control, bibliographic and inventory control, circulation, and enhanced public access modules. The Madison County Public Library System serves over 25,000 patrons and maintain a collection of approximately 75,000 items.
