Huntsville, Alabama - SIRSI Corporation is pleased to announce that the Stillwater Public Library in Stillwater, Oklahoma, has chosen to install the UNICORN Collection Management System on an IBM RISC System/6000 Model 340 host computer.
In addition to the bibliographic and inventory control module, Stillwater public has licensed the acquisitions module, authority control module, circulation control module, enhanced public access module, multiuser gateway, and Sirsi's intelligent interface to NOTIS. When asked why the library chose Unicorn Kay Vincent, Technical Services Librarian, replied, "We were attracted to Unicorn's complete software integration and user-friendliness. The system works very well and is easy-to-use."
The Stillwater Public Library serves a university community of 36,500 in north central Oklahoma. The library currently has eleven full-time employees, twelve part-time employees, and a collection of approximately 80,000 volumes. Plans are underway to make the UNICORN system fully operational after the library moves to a new 50,400 square foot building in the spring of 1994.
