The real value of this alliance is that technology can be used to automate the entire process for dealing with past due patron accounts. SIRSI is developing an interface so past due patron account information and weekly updates can be electronically transferred to Unique Management to minimize library staff time requirements. The interface will be available in Version 8.0 of Unicorn/STILAS, which is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 1996.
