Clarivate/ProQuest announced they will stop supporting new sales of perpetual books on June 30, 2026. As such, we have made the decision to discontinue EBSCO eBooks participation in Clarivate's OASIS and Rialto platforms as of June 30, 2026.
We see our fundamental role as supporting, cultivating, and enabling a thriving scholarly environment, one where libraries have confidence in the sustainability of their collections, and where publishers of every size can bring forward the scholarship that fuels progress in a sustainable way. We believe this decision is in the best interest of that shared future.
EBSCO is deeply committed to the future of books, demonstrated through our ongoing investments in Mosaic, our next-generation acquisition platform, and in expanding our eBook capabilities. By bringing innovation to print fulfillment, maintaining perpetual access to eBooks, and flexible acquisition models, we aim to provide libraries with sustainable solutions that evolve alongside their needs.
We invite you to explore our acquisition portals—GOBI Library Solutions, Mosaic, and EBSCOhost Collection Manager (ECM)—and partner with us in shaping a vibrant, enduring future for scholarly resources.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is EBSCO leaving Rialto?
EBSCO Books maintains values of openness, workflow efficiency and customer-first innovation, most recently demonstrated with the development of Mosaic. Discontinuing our availability in OASIS & Rialto allows EBSCO to further focus on our platforms to offer deeper integrations and flexibility for libraries while staying true to our values of maintaining a healthy library ecosystem.
Q: Will my current OASIS/Rialto orders be affected?
Existing orders will not be disrupted. EBSCO eBooks will remain available for purchase through OASIS and Rialto until June 30, 2026. Customers can make future EBSCO eBook purchases via ECM, GOBI, Mosaic or direct through their EBSCO sales rep.
Q: Can I still discover EBSCO titles in OASIS & Rialto?
Discovery may remain available for a limited time but purchasing will sunset by the end of the fiscal year (June 30, 2026). In the event options remain in OASIS or Rialto after June 30th, EBSCO will have disconnected the fulfillment workflow and orders placed will not be sent to EBSCO. We recommend connecting with your EBSCO Books rep to explore alternative workflows.
Q: Will this impact my analytics or reporting?
Access to EBSCO's eBook Manager tool and EBSCO eBook Usage Reports will remain accessible as usual and are not associated with the OASIS and Rialto platforms.
Q: Is there a replacement for OASIS and Rialto?
EBSCO continues to invest in platforms like GOBI and Mosaic, which offer robust eBook acquisition workflows and integrations with FOLIO, EDS and Alma. Alma's seamless integration with GOBI and Mosaic empowers libraries to streamline book acquisitions and automate workflows, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual effort.
Q: How do I ensure continuity in collection development?
We're here to help. EBSCO has a dedicated team of Collection Development Librarians and support staff to help with all your library's needs. Visit our EBSCO Connect page or reach out to your Books rep for personalized migration support and workflow planning.
Q: I currently have an EBSCO eBook DDA running via OASIS/Rialto. What should I do?
If you have not already begun planning a migration, we encourage you to start doing so. The DDA can be transferred to EBSCO direct or via GOBI. Pending the configuration of the DDA and if profiles are set up, it will take time to transition over to GOBI/EBSCO. We encourage you to consider moving sooner rather than later to ensure uninterrupted access to your users come June 30, 2026.
