Glasgow, UK -- 9th June 2025. SOLUS and OCLC's CloudLibrary are excited to announce the integration of CloudLibrary into the SOLUS Library App, delivering a more seamless digital reading experience for Solus Library App patrons. With this new integration, patrons can easily discover and borrow CloudLibrary eBooks and eAudiobooks through the SOLUS Library App, with reading and listening taking place in the CloudLibrary App.
One of the key benefits of this integration is the real-time availability of CloudLibrary titles. Patrons can instantly see whether an item is available to borrow or place on hold, just as they would for physical materials. This transparency eliminates confusion, reduces unnecessary clicks, and allows patrons to make faster, more informed borrowing decisions.
"Providing real-time availability of CloudLibrary items within the SOLUS Library App enhances the patron experience in a meaningful way," said Shelbi Schollenberger, Product Manager at SOLUS. "Patrons no longer need to jump between systems to check availability. Everything is in one place, saving time and reducing friction."
Key features of the integration include:
- Real-time item availability and hold status
- Borrowing directly within the SOLUS Library App
- Unified search results across physical and digital collections
- Automatic syncing of checkouts
This integration is now available for all library partners using the SOLUS Library App and subscribed to CloudLibrary services. Libraries interested in enabling this feature can reach out to their SOLUS representative for onboarding assistance.
