Each month, ByWater Solutions selects one library to be awarded $500. These funds are meant to support libraries and their communities and fill gaps in funding to further library goals.

We are excited to announce our May 2025 winner of the ByWater Community Giveback, the The Minot-Sleeper Library in Bristol, New Hampshire.

The funds will be used to support programming and outreach at the library.

Patricia Hayward, Library Director at the Bristol Public Library, commented:

Our library is located in Bristol, New Hampshire. It serves the entire Newfound Lake Community including Bristol, Danbury, Alexandria, Bridgewater, Hebron, Hill, Groton and New Hampton. However, the library is funded by the taxpayers of Bristol, which has a population of 3,300 in winter and 6,500 in summer.

We do a lot of wonderful free community programming for all ages, including art classes, book groups, after school snacks, summer reading adventures, poetry club, quilting, knitting, scrabble, mahjong, computer classes, movie nights, creative writing workshops, historical presentations, grief support group, local author book talks, a seed library, craft classes, and outreach to our senior population in the form of material delivery. We also provide Wi-Fi hotspots, as part of our Library of Things, in order to support digital equity in our community.

In order to continue providing all of these free programs and services to the large Newfound Lake Community, we need support from grants. We would put to excellent use a Bywater Community Give Back Grant to help fund our programming and outreach and would be extremely thankful to receive it."

About the ByWater Community Giveback

We will select one library a month to donate $500 to their Non-profit 501c3 organization such as Friends of the Library, Library Foundation, or other funding entity. These funds are meant to support libraries and their communities and fill gaps in funding to further library goals. We LOVE libraries. Our team is made up of librarians and library fanatics. We're always looking for ways to give back and create opportunities where we can to support libraries. This is a small token of thanks for all the hard work libraries do in their communities every day.
