May 9, 2025. Dr Nandita Quaderi, Senior Vice President and the Editor-in-Chief for Web of Science at Clarivate, has been named as the incoming co-chair of United2Act Against Paper Mills, an international coalition of stakeholders taking decisive action against the collective challenge of paper mills in scholarly publishing.
First convened in 2023, this coalition of research institutions, publishers, investigative researchers, universities, and publishing infrastructure leaders is a joint effort of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Association of Scientific, Technical & Medical Publishers (STM).


Nandita will lead United2Act alongside Lisa Janicke Hinchliffe, Professor and Coordinator for Research Professional Development at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

At Clarivate, Nandita has oversight of the Web of Science editorial division, the Institute for Scientific Information and the Research Professional News team. She has overall responsibility for editorial strategy, selection of Web of Science content and inclusion in Journal Citation Reports.
Nandita's focus is on protecting the integrity of the scholarly record, promoting the responsible use of bibliometrics and developing a responsible framework for evaluating the societal impact of research. She is a frequent invited speaker including keynote talks at the World Conferences on Research Integrity and the upcoming inaugural National Conference on Research Integrity in Chicago.
Nandita currently serves on the Steering Group of United2Act and on the Board of STM.
