McHenry, IL -- March 12, 2025. Follett Content, the largest provider of educational materials to 86,000 PreK-12 schools globally, today announced a strategic alignment to better serve its customer base with an enhanced sales organization and by establishing distinct pillars. Each pillar – Library, Classroom, and Book Fundraising – will have a General Manager dedicated to enhancing eHiciencies and accelerating innovation.
Underscoring the importance of school libraries and ensuring librarians have the information, tools, and partnership needed to make informed decisions for their school communities and get books into the hands of students, the Library pillar, led by Amy Egan, is committed to offering content that's unrivaled in quality and quantity, advocating for librarians as leaders, and ensuring the library is an integral part of a future-ready world.
Likewise, a dedicated Classroom pillar puts educators at the center of its decision-making. Led by Cari Caruso, a dedicated go-to partner for the classroom market is established, offering class book sets and other resources to support educators in improving student reading skills, developing core content knowledge, and aligning class materials to curriculum standards.
Going together with an increased and dedicated focus on the library and classroom is a dedicated understanding of the challenges schools sometimes face in securing funds to purchase resources to support high-quality education in these areas. Led by Brian James, the Book Fundraising pillar is finding ways of identifying new fundraising streams for schools with one recent example being the launch of online Follett Book eFairs in April 2024.
While the alignment brings optimizations to its operations and an emphasis on excellence in the marketplace, all three pillars remain under the purview of Chief Executive OHicer, Britten Follett.
"There is no better time to reimagine our operations to show our full support of what educators and school libraries are being faced with every day. We need dedicated teams waking up every day thinking about how to support school libraries and classrooms, find more book fundraising opportunities for schools, and get books into the hands of kids," said Follett. "These three leaders are poised to do just that."
Egan's deep appreciation for libraries and librarians made her an integral part of the librarian advocacy eHorts in her tenure at Follett. She remains focused on ensuring the voice of the librarian is front and center.
Caruso has been with Follett for more than 20 years and has extensive experience in the classroom market. She brings keen insight to the position with passion for customer-focused innovation and support.
Throughout James' career with Follett, he remains deeply connected to the importance of expanding book access to children across the country and finding new opportunities to raise funds for books in schools.
