St. Paul, MN -- January 25, 2024. Third Iron, LLC, a leading information technology company developing innovative services for libraries, publishers, and their users, announced an integration of LibKey Nomad++, an enhancement of their popular LibKey Nomad browser extension, with LibChat, a full-featured chat system from Springshare that is used by thousands of libraries worldwide. This integration enables researchers to engage with their libraries from within websites where LibKey Nomad++ is active and for libraries to extend the reach of LibChat.
"LibKey Nomad is installed on over 2,500,000 computers and used by researchers around the world to connect to full text articles and ebooks referenced at sites like PubMed, Wikipedia, and publisher websites," said Kendall Bartsch, CEO of Third Iron. "Integration with LibChat naturally expands the benefit of LibKey Nomad, from connecting researchers to full text to now include connecting instant help and guidance of librarians, no matter where they start their searching."
John Seguin, Third Iron President and Chief Librarian, continued, "We are excited to see this integration with LibChat and libraries are quickly upgrading to LibKey Nomad++ to take advantage of this and other ‘++' features, including domain level messaging, export to bibliographic management tools, and the ability to customize the appearance of Nomad to fit their organizational branding." Slaven Zivkovic, Springshare Founder and CEO, expressed, "Partnering with Third Iron to complete this integration naturally compliments the mission of LibChat and delivers a win both for end users and libraries."
LibChat integration is available for any library who is a current LibKey Nomad++ and LibAnswers customer. The integration may be activated and configured in the Third Iron admin portal.
