Equinox welcomes the Rosenbach Museum and Library to Koha ILS with the Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collection Libraries

Atlanta, GA -- November 9, 2023. Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is pleased to announce the migration of the Rosenbach Museum and Library to Koha ILS as part of their membership with the Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collection Libraries.

The Rosenbach Museum and Library was founded in 1954 with a mission to celebrate the art of the written word. In 2013, they became affiliated with the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation. Their migration to Koha included 3,365 bibliographic records and 3,366 item records. Equinox provided implementation, hosting, support, and training services as part of the migration process.

The Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collection Libraries was established in 1985 to enhance the visibility and support of member institutions. In the thirty years since its inception, it has doubled in size and continues to support area libraries through its working groups, project support, and setting of best practices.

"Koha can put special collections at the fingertips of a wide audience, and it is exciting to work with such amazing collections as those housed at the Rosenbach Museum and Library," said Galen Charlton, Implementation and IT Manager at Equinox. "We have seen firsthand how open source makes organizations more flexible and dynamic. It is exciting to see several cultural organizations with the Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collection Libraries adopt Koha."
