Pickens County Library System (PCLS) now has better reporting, collection curation, and staff operations after switching to the Library.Solution integrated library system (ILS) from The Library Corporation (TLC). Over the summer, TLC completed migration services for the four-site South Carolina library system from the SirsiDynix Horizon ILS.
"We chose TLC for ease of use and better/easier access to reports," shared Jennifer Bryan, Public Relations/Media Specialist for PCLS. "We are also looking forward to being more efficient in our day-to-day operations."
When selecting TLC as its new vendor, PCLS was very impressed with the reporting capabilities offered in Library.Solution. Bryan remarked that while patrons might not immediately notice changes to the ILS, "behind-the-scenes processes will be improved resulting in a better library experience. For instance, expanded access to reporting will allow for more finite details to be considered in collection development decisions, resulting in a better-curated collection for the community."
The migration from their previous vendor to TLC went smoothly, with Bryan commenting, "The best part of the process has been the training and support that TLC staff have provided. They have walked us through every step and been available for questions. Their trainer spent three days on-site with us during the launch to train staff and help answer questions." As a result, the library feels confident and pleased that they made the switch to TLC.
"We are thrilled to welcome Pickens County Library System to the TLC family," said Annette Murphy, TLC CEO. "The library will surely benefit from our extensive reporting power and data analytics."
Pickens County Library System is located along the northern border of South Carolina and provides access to over 234,000 titles, with more than 700,000 circulations annually.
