Toronto, ON -- August 3, 2023. BiblioCon, the Online Public Library Conference hosted by BiblioCommons, is back this year and will be hosted online from September 20-22, 2023.
Building on the success of past BiblioCon conferences, we are once again thrilled to host BiblioCon ‘23 virtually. This decision comes as a result of positive feedback from previous attendees who valued the accessibility and convenience of the online setting. Moreover, in our continued commitment to inclusivity, we are waving all registration fees for BiblioCon '23 to facilitate the participation of all public library professionals without any travel or financial constraints.
The theme for the first day of the conference is Driving Community Engagement. These sessions apply to all public libraries — not just those who subscribe to BiblioCommons.
During the second day, BiblioCon sessions will focus on measuring community impact, leveraging BiblioCommons products, and connecting with library peers.
BiblioCommons subscribers also have the opportunity to attend Office Hours with BiblioCommons Product Managers on Friday, September 22nd. The intimate Office Hours sessions are exclusively for current BiblioCommons Partner Libraries who want to discuss product-specific questions, the roadmap, and current research. Participants can submit and upvote questions ahead of time via the Partner Portal.
BiblioCon '23 provides a unique forum for attendees to connect with public library peers and gain insights from industry leaders on effectively using digital tools to enhance experiences for patrons and library staff. Given that the BiblioCommons software platform supports various public library departments, we welcome a wide array of professionals within the public library sphere to join us. Past attendees encompass a diverse mix, including library directors, web managers and developers, content creators, marketing and communications directors and staff, IT directors and staff, ILS managers, technical services and collections directors and staff, public service staff, and readers' advisory experts.
The BiblioCon '23 Planning Committee, consisting of dedicated public library staff and BiblioTeam members, played a pivotal role in bringing this extraordinary event together. Their ideas and active involvement have helped us surpass expectations and create an event that is not only inviting and motivational but also highly valuable for public library staff who are passionate about improving and supporting the online library experience. In addition to BiblioCommons staff, we want to thank the following public library staff for being a part of the BiblioCon '23 Planning Committee: Tiffany Breyne, Chicago Public Library, Web Manager; Margie Huth, Seattle Public Library, Systems Librarian; Jen Maney, Pima County Public Library, Online Services Manager; Monica Socol, Oakville Public Library, Manager-Technology & Projects; and Gregg Winsor, Johnson County Library, Readers' Advisory Librarian. We also want to extend a sincere thank you to the BiblioCon '23 co-chairs: Stephanie Chase, Constructive Disruption, Founder; and Michael Colford, Boston Public Library, Director of Library Services.
