More libraries sign on to OCLC's WorldShare Management Services platform

Dublin, OH -- 23 June 2023. Eleven libraries have recently signed on to use OCLC's WorldShare Management Services, the fully integrated library platform designed to meet the changing needs of today's libraries.

WorldShare Management Services (WMS) is the cloud-based library services platform with WorldCat as its foundation, which allows library staff to draw on OCLC's shared data network and technology for more efficient workflows. WMS also enables staff to better manage resources in all formats and to provide their users with improved access to the library's collections and the world's knowledge.

Among the libraries that have recently signed on to use WMS:

  • Buckinghamshire New University, Buckinghamshire, England, campuses throughout the UK
  • Lee College, Baytown, Texas, USA
  • North Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust and South Tees NHS Foundation Trust, NHS System, UK
  • Parliamentary Library Service, Member of Library & Archives Northern Territory, Australia
  • Shorter University, Rome, Georgia, USA
  • Whitley College, Melbourne, Victoria, a member of University of Divinity, Australia

"Libraries are moving to WorldShare Management Services for a variety of reasons, including flexibility, support for electronic and print resource management, and greater efficiencies in workflows," said Eric van Lubeek, OCLC Vice President, Global Library Services, and Managing Director EMEA and APAC. "WMS provides libraries the opportunity to collaborate with other libraries around the world. We are proud to welcome these new libraries to the expanding WorldShare community."

More about WorldShare Management Services is on the OCLC website. Those attending the American Library Association Conference in Chicago June 23–26 can visit the OCLC booth #4011 to find out more. A list of OCLC events at ALA is on the website.

About OCLC

OCLC is a nonprofit global library organization providing shared technology services, original research, and community programs so that libraries can better fuel learning, research, and innovation. Through OCLC, member libraries cooperatively produce and maintain WorldCat, the most comprehensive global network of data about library collections and services. Libraries gain efficiencies through OCLC's WorldShare, a complete set of library management applications and services built on an open, cloud-based platform. It is through collaboration and sharing of the world's collected knowledge that libraries can help people find answers they need to solve problems. Together as OCLC, member libraries, staff, and partners make breakthroughs possible.
