St. Louis, MO, and Oslo, Norway -- May 5, 20023. Washington University in St. Louis has gone live on TIND RDM. WashU Research Data (WURD) is an improved and upgraded data repository to better support the research mission of Washington University, replacing their previous BePress installation. Jennifer Moore, Head of Data Services, says that the new repository is a turning point for the organization: "We were able to incorporate key standards, such as DataCite metadata, persistent identifiers such as DOI, ORCIDid, ROR, integrate our local and the Data Curation Network's quality review workflows, GitHub integration, an evaluation for FAIRness, and provide for long-term access and preservation. The stellar implementation team at TIND supported our customizations and data migration and was so responsive and easy to work with. We are delighted."
WashU will benefit from bespoke, multi-step workflows that allow for seamless collaboration between researchers, administrative parties, and Data Curation Network curators following FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship. The entire process is managed within the TIND interface and is built to the University's specification within the flexible TIND workflows framework. It includes submission of metadata and files, automated emails to communicate status and feedback, assign tasks and request revision, curation by a DCN curator and a WashU curator, FAIRness evaluation, DOI minting, and publication. With user-friendly dashboards, librarians and research staff at WashU can easily navigate their workflows and ensure that the research data meets the highest standards of quality and integrity.
"WashU Research Data repository is a turning point for our organization. We were able to incorporate key standards, such as DataCite metadata, persistent identifiers such as DOI, ORCID, ROR, integrate our local and the Data Curation Network's quality review workflows, GitHub integration, an evaluation for FAIRness, and provide for long-term access and preservation. We feel we built something that meets the call of Desirable Characteristics for Research Data Repositories for Federally Funded Research. The stellar implementation team at TIND supported our customizations and data migration and was so responsive and easy to work with. We are delighted."
As one of the top R1 Doctoral universities in the United States, WashU is committed to promoting open science and scientific integrity. The collaboration with TIND RDM reinforces this commitment and demonstrates the university's dedication to research data sharing.
TIND is proud to have partnered with WashU and looks forward to supporting their continued efforts in research data management and sharing.
