Good news in Shared Collections: Lisa Moske

After a recent recruitment, Lisa Moske has been hired as the successful candidate for the Shared Collections Service Manager position. Her new position starts today, May 1st.

Lisa joined us in September 2021 in a contract position with CDL as the Shared Content Service Support Coordinator position. She – and we – are thrilled with Lisa's new appointment in a position as a UCOP career employee.

As the Shared Collections Service Manager, Lisa will be working in a similar position though one with more responsibility. She has been, and will continue, in a key role on the Licensed Content Team. In the expanded position, Lisa's role includes provides direct support to UC campus library leadership, librarians, and staff to determine areas of UC systemwide interest, establishing priorities for digital content acquisition, and resolving problems. She also will take a lead for coordinates, organizes, and participates in discussions with key UC library advisory groups and stakeholders; works closely with vendors to obtain necessary information regarding digital content, conducts content evaluation, requests pricing, communicates terms and technical functionality; gathers background of vendor products and their benefit to UC; and negotiate prices and terms for purchases and renewals.

Lisa has an MLS from UCLA, and MA and BA degrees in Sociology from Cal State LA and UCLA, respectively. Prior to joining CDL, she was with UCLA as the OpenUCLA Project Manager, where she helped to launch their OpenUCLA web portal and expanded their affordable and open course materials initiatives. She spent several years in IT and Instructional Technology services management, in academia and in the municipal sector. Most notably and relevant to our work at CDL, Lisa spent 8 years managing electronic resources on a consortial basis for the CSU system through the Chancellor's Office. In that role, she administered systemwide licenses as well as a $29 million budget, gathered and analyzed collections metrics, and managed shared services for the 23 CSU campuses.

Lisa has proven to all who have interacted with her that she has great enthusiasm to the work we do, is highly motivated, and truly enjoys working collaboratively with her colleagues at CDL and with our systemwide partners. She is an asset to CDL and to the UC system and we are so happy we have the opportunity to continue working with her in a permanent role.
