Leeds Beckett University (LBU), in partnership with Figshare, announces the launch of a new institutional repository: The Thesis and Research Data Repository, available at https://figshare.leedsbeckett.ac.uk/.
Research at Leeds Beckett is growing, with subjects as diverse as Sport, Health, Built Environment and Arts & Humanities. LBU strives to ensure the impact of the organisation will be of sustainable, social, economic and cultural benefit.
The new Thesis and Research Data Repository is supported on a custom domain, ensuring long-term sustainability of the repository. The repository will support the storing and sharing of theses and research data, providing a single place for researchers to make their data citable and discoverable.
Published content can be assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for citing and reuse; Figshare also provides usage metrics including views, downloads, citations, and Altmetrics.
"We are excited to be able to make our research data and postgraduate research theses openly available online, supporting our Open Research Strategy and the further development of the research profile of Leeds Beckett University" Debbie Morris, Digital Library Service Manager, Leeds Beckett University.
"We're delighted to support Leeds Beckett University's commitment to making its theses and research data openly available," said Figshare Founder and CEO Mark Hahnel. "We're thrilled to welcome them to the community of Figshare users in the UK."
