Hershey, PA, USA -- November 25th, 2022. IGI Global, a leading medium-sized independent academic publisher of international scientific research is the founding member of The Association of Global Open Science and Research (AGOSR), which has now officially launched (https://www.agosr.com/).

AGOSR is an alliance of publishers, libraries, institutions, Open Access (OA) funders, and service providers that is committed to the growth of a diverse and equal community dedicated to the development of open research and the sharing of open resources to researchers across the globe.

The association seeks to create a collaborative environment that supports all communities and individuals, especially those that are marginalized, by helping them to find their space and their voice in the OA ecosystem.

Melissa Wagner, Vice President of Editorial for IGI Global and a key board member of AGOSR, describes AGOSR as "an alliance of all those invested in the open access movement who champion the idea that everybody should have a voice and a seat at the table when it comes to shaping the future of open access. Through its open access repository, AGOSR also provides a free platform that showcases a wide range of vetted open access research from all over the world, further touting AGOSR's commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and diversity."

AGOSR provides a fair and inclusive space where open access stakeholders of all sizes can come together to promote and disseminate ethical open access research.

The association is inviting publishers to support the OA movement by becoming a member of AGOSR. They are currently welcoming university presses, library presses, and society presses to join, with a plan to expand membership to all publishers shortly.

At this point in time, becoming a member of AGOSR is free, and publishers can choose to support the association through donations.
