Baltimore, MD, November 3, 2022. The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) today announced that Jill O'Neill is stepping down from her role as Director of Content on November 4, 2022. She will continue to work for NISO on a part-time basis, as publisher of their monthly newsletter, Information Organized (I/O).

In her role as Director of Content, Jill was responsible for both I/O and NISO's educational program, comprising 12+ monthly webinars, two online training series, and multiple virtual conferences each year, as well as the acclaimed Humanities Roundtable. She has been an active member of the information community for more than 30 years, including managing the professional development programs for NFAIS (National Federation of Advanced Information Services) before joining NISO in 2015. Her publishing expertise was gained working for such prominent content providers as Elsevier, Thomson Scientific (now part of Clarivate Analytics), and John Wiley & Sons. Jill continues to write for a diverse set of publications, including Information Today and The Scholarly Kitchen.

Going forward, the educational program will be managed by Kimberly Gladfelter Graham, currently Office Manager for NISO. Kimberly has a background in the arts and humanities, and is currently studying for her Masters in Library Information Science at the iSchool of the University of Maryland, College Park. In her new role as Education Program Manager and DEIA Advocate, she is taking on responsibility for all of NISO's educational offerings from November 7, 2022, including the remainder of this year's events and the recently announced 2023 program (see As DEIA Advocate, she will continue to be the staff contact point for NISO's DEIA Committee, as well as ensuring that our educational events are designed with and for a diverse range of information community stakeholders.

Todd Carpenter, NISO's Executive Director, said, "While we are disappointed to say goodbye to Jill as a full-time staff member, we are delighted that she will be staying on for now to work on I/O. She has been instrumental in the development of both our educational events and our publications. We have benefited enormously from her extraordinarily broad and deep knowledge of the information industry, as well as her extensive network of contacts. We are very grateful to Jill for her dedicated service to NISO and the entire information ecosystem over the years. Simultaneously, we are delighted that Kimberly will take on responsibility for the educational program that Jill has done so much to develop. Kimberly brings her passion for education and DEIA, as well as her strong organizational skills to this new role, and we all look forward to working with her as she builds on Jill's legacy to further develop our program, in addition to continuing to advocate for DEIA in our organization and community.
