RFID Invest AG, the Liechtenstein-based investment firm, has been increasing its stake in Bibliotheca RFID Library Systems AG to 49 percent. Europe's leading RFID library system provider expects a profitable know-how transfer between international RFID suppliers from diverse sectors.
"The cooperation of leading worldwide RFID companies creates significant synergies and optimizes our value. Future developments of the BiblioChip RFID System and technological progress will emerge from extensive experiences in global RFID installations in numerous vertical markets.
Libraries will directly gain from this through advanced hardware and software as well as a lower system cost," explains Marcel Nauer, Chairman of the supervisory board.
RFID Invest AG is Europe's first private equity firm that focuses exclusively on RFID technology. Entrepreneur Martin Zumtobel is the company's major shareholder. Martin Zumtobel and Dietmar J. Amann, both RFID Invest co-founders with decades of experience in the RFID sector, will be new members of Bibliotheca's supervisory board. RFID Invest provides financing to companies with a successful track record.

It strengthens Identec's global leading position in industrial RFID-based tracking and tracing solutions.
- Ganter Electronics GmbH is the European market leader in the sector of management systems for fitness centers and leisure systems.
- Proveo GmbH is known for its forward looking information technology in the aviation industry. They developed a globally unique system designed for the optimization of ground handling equipment on an airport apron.
- ER Systems S.A. implements and maintains RealTimeLocation systems in the European healthcare market for hospitals and nursing homes.
