Press Release: Atlas Systems, Inc. [August 30, 2022]

The University of Pittsburgh is now live using Aeon

Virginia Beach, VA — Atlas is pleased to announce its implementation of Aeon at the University of Pittsburgh Library System within its Archives & Special Collections department. Located in Pittsburgh, PA, the University of Pittsburgh joins more than 120 institutions using Aeon in production.

Due to working within the COVID landscape, it took over a year to implement the new service but Aeon was launched on August 15, 2022, just in time for the fall semester. Patrons and researchers can easily make appointments at one of the three reading rooms and request materials from different physical locations. With Aeon, the The Archives & Special Collections can more precisely track the movement and usage of the distinctive collections among campus and off-campus locations.

Atlas staff assisted the special collections staff at the University of Pittsburgh to configure Aeon to present a seamless experience for their readers and support local workflows throughout the implementation process. The Archive & Special Collections will continue to receive hosting and software support from Atlas.

We wish the University of Pittsburgh congratulations on their successful implementation project and welcome them to the Aeon Community.
