Riyadh, June 2022. As part of its efforts to leverage the latest in digital transformation technologies to consolidate its entire collections, which includes books, manuscripts, multimedia files, among other formats, under one unified platform while offering users a rich and engaging user experience, King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research & Archives (Darah) chose MEDAD Library Services Platform from Naseej, to implement its "Resources Management Platform" project. The aim of this project is to develop a unified resources and collections management platform that also supports archiving, publishing, search & discovery and sharing capabilities, and ensures seamless access for all of Darah's users.
The Darah also wants to ensure that any new platform it will adopt will improve efficiencies and streamline its library operations including acquisitions, cataloging, circulations, and reporting; and to also provide Darah users with a precise and engaging search & discovery service and portal.
This ambitious project comes as part of the Darah's efforts to fulfill its mission to become the foremost authority and reference on the history, heritage, and geography of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the history of the Arabian Peninsula and the broader Arabic & Islamic Worlds. Through MEDAD's Library Services Platform the Darah will be able to provide users from all over the world with a unified platform that enables seamless access to the Darah's massive collections, accessible anytime/anywhere and from any device.
Mr. Abdullah Al Turaifi – Naseej VP – acknowledged the significance of this national project and the contribution it will have on enriching the digital content and knowledge base related to the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Arab and Islamic worlds, as well as its contribution to fulfilling the vision of Saudi Arabia's leadership in accelerating digital transformation efforts in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) was founded on the fifth of Sha'ban-1392 H / 1972 AD, pursuant to the royal decree No. (M/45) to serve the history, geography and intellectual and architectural literature of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular, and the Arabian Peninsula, and the Arab and Islamic Worlds in general, in addition to collecting and classifying the various historical resources, including transcripts and other sources related to the Kingdom.
