LIBNOVA sponsors the 10th Conference of Private Archives "Archives and Wine" to be held from June 15 – 17 in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain).
The Private Archives Conference, which has been held in Jerez de la Frontera for the past decade, has become a national reference in the world of archives.

Archivists, librarians, researchers and other professionals from the sector will present their techniques for organizing wine cellar collections, as well as transmitting their knowledge of their organizations' collections, promoting a clear and objective approach to the world of wine, a basic cultural axis in the civilizations of the Mediterranean and the focus of historical research and cultural, heritage and tourism interpretations.
LIBNOVA supports one more year the organization of this conference to be held in Jerez de la Frontera, an area that has one of the most important cultural heritages on the world of Bacchus, which will also be attended by other Councils and wine areas of Spain and Portugal to show and transmit their knowledge and archives.
The program of the X Private Archives and Wine Conference also includes several parallel activities, such as an exhibition of winery sketches, a visit to several wineries and the presentation of activities of the Heritage and History area at IVAGRO.
About the X Conference Private Archives and Wine
The existence of documentary sources is the practical confirmation of the foundation of History, it is the archives that shelter them and it is, therefore, a mandatory condition to know our archives Institutions that can be classified from their jurisdictional origin and property, integrating the range of public and private. Being the private archives those great unknowns, but that integrate unique sources for the knowledge of facets, activities and mentalities that are hardly expressed in the public archives, for procedural issues, protocol, etc. These conferences on private archives are an opportunity to learn about these magnificent documentary collections, their origins and operation.
In this tenth conference, the thematic scope is circumscribed to the world of Wine and its value as an axis of memory and culture. Following the ideology of these conferences on Private Archives, we will approach the immense world that involves the Culture of Wine, we will see the techniques in organization of the winery funds, in addition to transmitting the exhaustive knowledge about its funds, promoting a clear and objective approach to the world of Wine. This is a basic cultural axis in the civilizations of the Mediterranean and the axis of historical research and cultural, patrimonial or touristic interpretations. The fact that Jerez de la Frontera is the venue for this conference is not circumstantial, since it has one of the most important cultural heritages on the world of Bacchus, but we also join other Councils and wine areas of Spain and Portugal that will show and transmit their knowledge and archives.
