Dublin, OH -- April 29, 2022.Patron Point announced today that the Lakeland Library Cooperative in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has selected its patron engagement platform to support its mission to strengthen member libraries in eight west Michigan counties by providing the means to share resources, services, and expertise for the benefit of individuals and communities. The Cooperative provides consulting services, delivery, continuing education, advocacy, group purchases, and a shared public access catalog to member libraries.
This cooperative approach preserves local initiative and control while taking full advantage of the efficiencies that a larger service area makes possible. Policies are set by the membership while individual member libraries are governed by their local board's policies. The Cooperative's primary funding is State Aid to Public Libraries.
The Lakeland Library Cooperative includes 40 public libraries in 55 locations on its shared Integrated Library System across Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo and Ottawa counties, and serves more than 1 million patrons.
