KERIS and Elsevier sign subscription agreement for research access

Seoul, January 28, 2022. The Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS) and Elsevier, a global leader in research publishing and information analytics, today announced an agreement to provide researchers affiliated with KERIS access to global academic research.

Administered under the KERIS Academic License, the three-year subscription took effect from January 1, 2022 to provide researchers from 217 KERIS-affiliated institutions with access to ScienceDirect, Elsevier's world-leading platform that brings together scientific knowledge and peer-reviewed research with more than 16 million articles from the company's 2,650 journals.

Sanghyun Jang, Director of Higher Education and Academic Division, KERIS, said: "Information disparity could pose a challenge for researchers in an era when digital information is experiencing exponential growth from increased networks of online research and education. Under this context, we are happy to partner with Elsevier to provide researchers with access to high quality journals to advance scientific discoveries and drive positive societal outcomes."
