London, 16 December 2021. The Manchester College and its higher education partner UCEN Manchester has chosen Koha as its new library management system.
PTFS Europe implemented the new system and will provide ongoing hosting and support services.
About the Koha Library Management System
The Koha library management system is a cloud application providing colleague and student users with browser access to the system. The system comprises core modules: acquisitions with EDI, circulation, cataloguing, serials, and comprehensive reporting functionality. The Koha online catalogue offers end users excellent search capabilities together with a full range of personalisation services. Koha's depth of functionality continues to develop to meet the changing needs of libraries and their users.
Sam Goldsmith and Lesley French, Library Managers, said:
Koha is an intuitive and modern system that will help us provide excellent service to our users. We were also very much guided to the choice of this LMS by the brilliant support provided by PTFS Europe which has allowed us to confidently swap systems in the busiest term and despite our limited availability, everything has gone smoothly and to time.
The Manchester College and UCEN Manchester are part of The LTE Group, an integrated learning and skills group which also encompasses Novus, Total People and MOL amongst its 5 leading organisations, with over 95,000 learners and 4,000 colleagues across the UK.
Fiona Borthwick, Head of Sales and Account Management at PTFS Europe, said:
We are delighted that The Manchester College and UCEN Manchester have chosen to work with us and implement the Koha LMS. A growing number of Further Education institutions are seeing the benefit of this open-source library systems platform. We welcome them as a customer and they join our growing base of Koha customers, particularly in the FE sector, from across the UK and Europe who are hosted and supported by PTFS Europe
