Press Release: LibLynx [November 30, 2021]

LibLynx integrates with theIPregistry.org to simplify access control for De Gruyter

LibLynx has integrated data from theIPregistry.org into its Identity & Access solution to enable publishers to automatically maintain registered IP addresses. The enhanced service launched on the new De Gruyter publishing platform in October 2021.

De Gruyter was facing a significant challenge in migrating and cleaning up customer account data from their legacy publishing platform. They wanted to reduce the manual effort invested in account maintenance and improve access for subscribers, while minimising unauthorised access.

The enhanced service allows LibLynx customers to automatically match customer accounts to organizations in theIPregistry.org and use their verified IP addresses to authenticate access to services. The integration ensures that updates to IP addresses are automatically applied and includes support for both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

"The integration between LibLynx and theIPregistry.org gives us a lot more confidence that our customers can access the licensed material they have bought, and will save significant time and manual effort.," said Scott Williams, VP Technology & Platform, De Gruyter.

"Maintaining proper IP addresses is a significant but important challenge across our industry. The costs of poorly maintained data are significant, including lost access, unauthorised entry, and misallocated usage," said Tim Lloyd, CEO, LibLynx. "We're delighted to be working with De Gruyter and theIPregistry.org in launching this important step forward in automation."

"We created theIPregistry.org to provide libraries and publishers with a truly collaborative, transparent and accurate source of data", said Andrew Pitts, CEO and Co-founder, PSI Ltd.
