Heidelberg and London, 07 October 2021. For this year's Frankfurt Book Fair, Springer Nature has created a programme of virtual events on hot topics and trends facing the publishing industry and will also be present during the actual fair with a physical booth.
This digital presence follows the success of last year's virtual hub and will again be a platform for online features, such as live panel discussions on industry topics and selected author videos on new book titles.
Springer Nature has brought together expert panels to discuss a broad range of topics such as the role open science, partnership and cross-disciplinary thinking play in tackling global societal challenges; the impact COVID-19 and the rise of misinformation have had on science communication; the role of technology and AI in advancing research; what the ever-evolving digital landscape means for librarian leadership; and, what ‘taking responsibility' as a global publisher actually means.
Renate Bayaz, Communications Director Books & Professional at Springer Nature, says: "We want to send a positive signal and offer our customers and business partners from the book trade and publishing sector an opportunity to meet and network in person. Nevertheless, we also offer the chance of engaging with the scientific publishing industry to those who cannot or don't yet feel like attending the option of a physical presence alongside our digital presence.
Therefore, we have created a hybrid presence of physical booth and online events, both of which reflect our mission to embed trust in research, and discover solutions to the world's urgent challenges by unlocking the potential of open science and research across all disciplines."
The Frankfurt Book Fair will run from October 20-24, 2021, and Springer Nature's booth can be found in Hall 4.0, C25.
Registration is now open for the virtual live events that take place from October 20-22, 2021. For more information, please visit Springer Nature Group @ Frankfurt Book Fair. The hub will remain live after the physical fair, and the recordings of all live events will remain online for people to visit, rewatch, and reconnect at their convenience.
