Follett School Solutions (FSS) will be exiting the book fair business, a decision prompted by thousands of fair cancellations due to the pandemic. FSS is expected to continue delivering book fairs through mid- November of this year.

Given the overwhelming number of schools cancelling fairs since the pandemic began in March 2020, and with no clear idea of when restrictions may ease, company officials said they could no longer sustain the revenue losses tied to Follett Book Fairs which were launched in 2017.

According to Britten Follett, CEO/Content for FSS: "As with any start-up operation, we knew it would take time and hard work to get our book fair business off the ground. What we couldn't predict was a global pandemic in March 2020 that essentially halted any progress. Though difficult for us and our many loyal customers, this decision helps ensure a strong future for FSS and allows us to focus our investments into our core products and services. We remain steadfastly committed to supporting our customers' library and classroom needs well into the future."
