Trojman Corporation and Coherent Digital to produce new Canadian Electronic Library

Today, Trojman Corporation and Coherent Digital signed a definitive agreement to produce a new version of the Canadian Electronic Library (CEL). The CEL provides over 27,000 ebooks and over 63,000 policy documents to hundreds of libraries across Canada. Since its launch in 2006, it's become the definitive database of Canadian materials for libraries.

Under this agreement, Trojman and Coherent will produce a new version of the CEL early in 2022. The new version will be based on Coherent's Commons platform and offer numerous new features, including additional content, user uploads, additional indexing, and an improved user experience. CEL will continue to be provided on the desLibris platform until May 2022, to make it easy for customers to migrate.

"This is great news for libraries, scholars, students, and publishers" said Salvy Trojman. "We'll be adding significantly more features, content, and sales resources. We expect to grow sales and in doing so, give Canadian publishers increased royalties."

Bob Gibson, President of Gibson Publishing Connections, said "For more than fifteen years the CEL has provided an authentic Canadian voice for Canadian publishers and readers. I'm delighted to be passing it over to Salvy and colleagues at Coherent Digital to build on it further."
