Capilano University has selected Talis Aspire as their Resource List Management Solution, in order to better support faculty and library relationships, particularly with copyright auditing and management. Resource lists offer them greater insight into how to meet student resource needs and deliver an improved student experience.

Talis Aspire will provide more intuitive access to course materials for students, while faculty and library staff will benefit from the ease and efficiency of provisioning course materials. With a new perspective on material usage in courses across campus, the library will leverage streamlined workflows and efficiencies around collection development and content purchasing.

Talis Aspire will also enable us to obtain the greatest value from the many resources that we purchase and licence."

As a platform-neutral solution, Talis Aspire integrates into the existing library and institution ecosystems, bridging the Learning Management System (LMS) and Library Services Platform (LSP) while enhancing library access & visibility. At Capilano University, Talis Aspire will integrate with their Library Services Platform, Innovative: Sierra and with their Learning Management System, Moodle.

Darcye Lovsin, who managed the resource list project at Capilano University, stressed the importance of this integration, especially after a year of teaching online. "Almost anything that wasn't on Moodle before now is. We'll take a hybrid approach when we're back, so Moodle will continue to be an important piece of the puzzle. What we loved was the streamlined simplicity. Talis Aspire resource lists can be edited right within Moodle and embedded either as the entire list or a specific list section. It's also so easy to pull resources into lists, which is a huge benefit for faculty".

The Capilano University team is already working closely with the Talis Services team to be ready to launch for the fall semester, 2021.
