5/16/2005 -- La VERGNE, TN – Ingram Book Group, a leading wholesale distributor of book product, has named Tom Jourdane as Director of Proprietary and Bargain Merchandise. He will work in the remainder and closeout marketplace to secure values on book product for Ingram customers.

"Ingram's close relationship with publishers and book packagers allows us to purchase books and create packages that have a special look, as well as discount pricing," said Mr. Jourdane. "Often what retailers are looking for are unique books with great prices in categories such as cookbooks, art books, children's books and photography books."

Mr. Jourdane has had a 32-year career in the book business, working in retail, marketing, merchandising, and publishing. Recently, he worked for Overstock.com, assisting the online discount retailer in launching its own book program.

"Tom is a book-industry veteran with a proven record of helping all types of retailers to profit from remainders and closeouts," said Jim Chandler, President and CEO of Ingram Book Group. Mr. Jourdane received his B.A. from San Jose State University. He and his wife, Marcia, have three children and five grandchildren.
