(Potsdam, NY) - CNY (ConnectNY), Inc., a consortium of independent academic institutions in New York State, and Index Data, a software and services company specializing in creating innovative tools for libraries, are pleased to announce that CNY has selected Index Data as the service provider for ReShare.
CNY joined Project ReShare in 2019 as a Founding Member. This program allows libraries and consortia to contribute to Project ReShare and have a clear voice in the project's direction. By becoming a Founding Member, CNY expressed enthusiasm for the development of this community-owned infrastructure, as well as a demonstrated commitment to ensuring Project ReShare remains a user-centered, innovative force for resource sharing in libraries.
In commenting on the decision to join ReShare, Pamela Jones, CNY's Executive Director said, "CNY was looking for a new approach to resource sharing and ReShare provides the opportunity to be part of a library-developed, owned, and managed product, which is something new in the resource sharing environment. Collaborating with Index Data as the service provider for ReShare is an excellent opportunity for CNY to be an early adopter of ReShare."
Lynn Bailey, CEO of Index Data added, "We are very excited to be working with ConnectNY as one of the early adopters of Project ReShare's Returnable system. CNY has enthusiastically jumped in and has been a great addition to the community. As we prepare to roll out the first libraries in the coming months, the consortium is partnering with us to ensure the back-end connectivity to their four different ILSes, a process that will benefit their users as well as future ReShare implementers."
