Oxelösunds library chooses Quria to streamline operations

Oxelösunds Library chooses Axiell's cloud-based platform, Quria, and discovery tool, Axiell Arena, to streamline work for library staff, leaving more time to assist borrowers and visitors. With this user-friendly and modern library system, Oxelösund will be better positioned to support its 11,900 inhabitants with more flexible library operations and automated processes.

The library in Oxelösund is a central part of the municipality's cultural offer and coexists with other municipal services. The library used Axiell's BOOK-IT system for a long time and started following the development of Quria when the new platform was first introduced. Now they are looking forward to the possibilities that Quria brings.

"A cloud-based system opens up opportunities for more flexible library operations and automated processes. Quria is new and modern, and we are excited to take the next step in developing our business. Quria was an obvious choice. There is nothing similar on the market", says Malin Göthberg, Library Manager in Oxelösund municipality.

Quria is a platform where all of the library's resources and workflows can be managed together. This includes physical collections, digital resources, library activities, events, e-media and all communication channels. With Quria, the library can build a future-proof collection that supports linked data, Libris XL, and offers both library staff and visitors the benefits of RDA and FRBR. A catalogue structured according to RDA and FRBR gives the user a clear overview of all the formats or variations of a book or resource, that are available in the collection.

The system simplifies the staff's internal work and frees up time for initiatives like visitor outreach and reading promotion. It is cloud-based and works behind the scenes so that the library does not need to be closed for updates to the solution.

"Oxelösunds Library in Sweden attracts the most visitors in relation to population size; 19.8 visits per inhabitant each year. The fact that Oxelösund chose Quria to streamline its processes and dedicate more time for visitors is proof that we are on the right track. Oxelösund will be library number eight to join Quria in Sweden, and we are very much looking forward to our continued collaboration", says Joachim Läckberg, Axiell's Public Library Manager in Sweden.
