February 5, 2018. ParentPay Limited, Europe's leading provider of school payment and parental engagement services, has acquired WIS, the market leading software provider for school payment collection and parent communication in the Netherlands.
Founded in 2003, WIS has grown to become the leading provider of digital payment and parent communication services to secondary schools in the Netherlands and is now expanding into the primary and tertiary education sectors.
WIS' school communication solution was the first SIS-integrated service in the Netherlands and the latest version, WIS Communicator, is a powerful cloud messaging solution giving parents access to news, grades, homework, schedules, e-mails and invoices.
Launched in 2012, WIS Talent Manager facilitates employee talent development specifically in the education sector, with easy-to-use features for course management, learning delivery and organizing conferences.
WIS Collect, the online school payment service launched in 2013, allows students and/or parents to make electronic payments more easily, allowing schools to collect money safely, transparently and cost-effectively.
The WIS Collect, WIS Communicator and WIS Talent Manager products will continue to be developed, marketed and supported by the WIS team at its offices in Gouda.
Commenting on the deal, Clint Wilson, Group Chief Executive of ParentPay said, "WIS has led the way in the Netherlands for the adoption of digital parental engagement and payment services. We have gained a deep respect for the success that WIS has achieved and it has shown that there is a significant opportunity in Europe for services such as ParentPay in the next five years where we expect to see a fundamental shift in school adoption of digital services for parents. The Dutch market is one of only a handful where schools have broadly adopted parental engagement and payment services.
He added: "WIS' powerful cloud-based solutions provide an excellent foundation for building further success in the Dutch market. This acquisition is also additive to our product platform and management capability to support our wider European growth ambitions."
"We are excited about the journey ahead and how the acquisition might help our customers in both the UK and Europe."
The announcement follows ParentPay's acquisition of Schoolcomms in January 2017 and its acquisition of Cypad in December 2017. The WIS acquisition is the first deal to extend ParentPay Group's reach outside of the UK.
Under the agreement, signed on 30th January 2018, ParentPay (Holdings) Europe BV has acquired 100% of the issued share capital in Egengroup Holdings BV, the parent company of WIS.
ParentPay Ltd is the UK's leading online payment and parental engagement provider for schools and families. It's ParentPay platform delivers online payments, income management and dinner money administration for schools, local authorities and caterers.
Schoolcomms is an integrated and modular parental engagement system, with messaging, payment and a parent reporting app, which allows schools to engage parents, improving outcomes for pupils.
Cypad is a tablet and web-based platform that supports the entire process of providing a school meals service with a range of applications used by schools, local authorities and school caterers.
ParentPay's products help more than 12,500 schools save administration time and reduce costs and enable over 4 million parents to pay schools quickly and securely, while remaining engaged in their children's education.
