Ipswich, MA -- November 23, 2020. EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has partnered with the Guidelines International Network (GIN) to launch the GIN Library and Registry of Guidelines. The library, which includes approximately 3,000 guidelines developed or endorsed by GIN members, is freely available to medical researchers across the globe.
GIN supports collaboration in guideline development for the medical community, helping its members to create high-quality clinical practice guidelines that foster safe and effective patient care. The GIN Library and Registry of Guidelines is powered by Stacks, EBSCO's web-based content management system which provides support, features and technology for companies looking to create a digital research experience. The library aims to make guidelines accessible with or without a GIN membership, enabling open access and creating opportunities for new insights through feedback from the product manager.
EBSCO Vice President of SaaS Product and Technology Innovation and Stacks Founder Kristin Delwo says Stacks' technology supported GIN in developing a customizable portal that streamlines guidelines and enables findability, which will ultimately enhance guideline development. "The new GIN Library and Registry of Guidelines offers the most current information in a single location, making it easy for researchers to collaborate on projects and upload guidelines."
GIN CEO Elaine Harrow says, "Our new library and registry of guidelines in development supports GIN's mission to lead and strengthen collaboration, and the registry in particular will facilitate the reduction of duplication of effort."
Currently, EBSCO is a member of GIN via its flagship clinical decision support tool, DynaMed. The GIN Library and Registry of Guidelines was launched at the GIN Annual General Meeting on September 30 and can be found at: https://guidelines.ebmportal.com/.
