Press Release: Yewno [October 27, 2020]

Yewno to supply Artificial Intelligence capabilities to Citi Global Data Insights and Citi Research

October 27, 2020 – Palo Alto, CA – Yewno, a leading provider of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, has announced that it will be providing AI based information analysis capabilities to Citi. Using Yewno's patented knowledge graph, Citi will be able to extract signals from unstructured text, which is currently a challenging and time-consuming task. Citi will use Yewno's AI solutions in its Citi Global Data Insights (CGDI) unit, the data science team within Global Insights at Citigroup, and in its independent Citi Research unit.

Yewno's AI technology solves the problem of information overload for market participants. It transforms massive amounts of fundamental and alternative data into actionable insights. By leveraging its dynamic Knowledge Graph, Yewno is able to detect hidden relationships, extract concepts and links across varied data sources, and provide valuable insights that would have otherwise gone undetected. Their solutions include data packages, index strategies, and a web-based financial research platform, which are used by industry leaders including Nasdaq, STOXX, Moody's Analytics, and now Citigroup.

"The Yewno Knowledge Graph provides us an exciting capability to analyze company exposure to trends, themes, and concepts as they emerge in the real economy and become important in financial markets. Sector and company analytics are at the core of our institutional business model and this type of Natural Language Processing and AI is becoming a necessary component of our research" said Andrew Pitt, Head of Research & Content at Citi.

"The amount of data available to institutions and their analysts at any given moment in time is impossible to ingest, associate and process. Add to this the dynamic nature of market data and news, and essentially we as humans just can't keep up," says Yewno CEO Ruggero Gramatica. "Our AI provides a way to remove the bottleneck and tedium of those functions so that analysts can spend their time pursuing the ideas, themes and strategies that excite them and deliver superior returns."
